Macchialina Taverna Rustica is another venture of the Pubbelly Boys that brings to Miami Beach the idea of those local small trattorias you find only hided on an alleyway and serves the best authentic Italian food. And that is a characteristic of all establishments of Pubbelly group: a rustic neighborhood spot.

Ambiance

The Pubbelly group already have the original Pubbelly Fusion Cuisine Restaurant, Pubbelly Sushi, Barceloneta (spanish-meditteranean bistro) and why not start an Italian restaurant? It all started naturally. Michael Pirolo, the chef at Macchialina nowadays, was a big fan of the Pubbelly’s restaurants and always wanted to make part of the “family”. He was going there so often that he attracted the attention of the owners. When the opportunity came he grabbed.

At this rustic restaurant in Miami Beach guests will have the opportunity to taste the classic Italian flavors with rustic touches.

Why the name “Macchialina”?

When deciding the name of the restaurant the owners were in a dilemma. First they wanted the name “Macchia” wich means the “spot” the “place”, meaning something local devoted to the neighborhood. But they also wanted a name that communicates the rustic style of the food that was going to be offered. “Maialina” means “small pig” and it refers to the rustic small farmers that grows little pigs, a very rustic place. It was hard to decide from Macchia to Maialina, so they’ve just merged the two words coming up with Macchialina! And that is a name that reflects well what the restaurant is: the spot for rustic Italian food – Pubbelly style.
