If you live or have visited Florida, you probably have seen dollar bills nailed to the walls and ceilings of bars, mainly establishments close to the beach.
The owners of Hott Leggz, a traditional bar located in Fort Lauderdale, decided to take the money from the wall and donate it to their employees, who are unpaid due to the coronavirus crisis. Twenty-five employees of the pub have been dismissed and the place is only delivering food.
“We look at the money on the wall and think: we are going to donate this money to our employees”, said one of the partners of the place, Juliana Sodré, who is Brazilian. “We always joked that, at worst, we had the money on the wall. The worst case has arrived, ”he said.
