The new connection aisles are essential for the city of Miami, as they create access points for the communities of Miami and Miami Beach, as well as for ports, tourist destinations, event venues, hospitals and other points of interest in Downtown.

Amenities are being proposed along the trail for the leisure of the community and visitors. Improvements for pedestrians will also be made on the local streets near I-395, and Northwest 2nd Avenue will be connected under I-395.

The project includes a spectacular iconic six-arch bridge, called Signature Bridge, which will extend for 1,025 feet over Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 2nd Avenue, with the highest arch reaching 330 feet in height. Aesthetic lighting will be added to the bridge’s arches and cable system to illuminate the Miami skyline, turning Signature Bridge into a Miami landmark for future generations.

Underdeck: A New Community Space

Along with the Signature Bridge, the project includes the Underdeck, a vast area of 33 acres that will transform the space under the bridge into a vibrant public space. The Underdeck will extend from the Miami River to the Adrienne Arsht Center, creating a continuous connection between Downtown Miami and the Overtown neighborhood. This space, previously underutilized, will be converted into parks, rest areas, pedestrian paths, and spaces for community events, offering a new green area to the city.
