Orlando’s surrounding areas offer small cities, vilas and communities that few people know about. Most condos and luxury homes for sale in Orlando are not in the city of Orlando, but in nearby cities. One is the small community of Isleworth, a favorite of celebrities for housing luxury condos by the lakes. Isleworth is a community on the outskirts of Windermere, that belongs to Orange County. The region is very popular for its proximity to downtown Orlando and for its wonderful nature, between lakes. In addition, the region offers one of the best qualities of life in Florida, with great schools and a very low crime rate.
Isleworth is part of the Butler Chain of Lakes, with 11 lakes connected by navigable channels. The presence of lakes aroused the interest of local builders who saw the region as an opportunity to launch high standard condos by the lake.
Some celebrities who bought houses in the neighborhood are the player Kaka, Tiger Woods, Shaquille O’neil, among others.

A little about the history of Isleworth
According to Wikipedia, Isleworth has its roots in the Chase family, a group of Philadelphia citrus farm owners who bought land in the area after the U.S. Civil War. Sidney and Joshua Chase referred to their property as the “Isle of Worth” because their citrus trees seemed naturally resistant to cold temperatures. In 1984, Chase’s descendants sold their land to Arnold Palmer, who, in partnership with local developers, designed a huge golf course for wealthy clients. In 1993, the Tavistock Group purchased the golf course and the surrounding area. Tavistock started building huge, expensive mansions, which is now the main feature of the neighborhood in Orlando.
Region famous for the Golf championships
The community attracts stars like Tiger Woods because of its huge golf courses. Isleworth is home to an 18-hole championship golf course, originally designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, later redesigned and modified by Steve Smyers. The course consistently ranks as the longest and most difficult course in the state by the Florida State Golf Association (FSGA). Complements another Tavistock development across Orlando, Lake Nona.
