In the past, Fort Lauderdale was a very popular spring break destination for college students. Starting during the 60s, 70s, and 80s, thousands of college students would stamped the city. Therefore, the City Commission started campaigning to flip the demographic. This is one of the many reasons why the Fort Lauderdale real estate market has grown into one of the most desired in the South Florida area.
