Young acquired thousands of acres of land around 1920 and named his new city “Hollywood Beach”, inspired by the famous cinematic city of Hollywood, California.
Although Hollywood Beach has never turned into an epicenter of cinema like its Californian counterpart, the name remains as a tribute to Young’s visionary idea.
