The Miami Marine Stadium is located on Virginia Key and was built in 1963 as the first venue built for boat racing in United Estates (some say in the world). After Hurricane Andrew the place was damaged and considered unsafe by the City of Miami. Since then (1992) it was left abandoned and end up invaded by vandals who deteriorated the building through years. A restoration plan is taking place to revitalize the building.
