Not so long ago, the search for real estate in Florida had two main objectives: 1 – leisure (second home) or 2 – investment. In recent years, however, the main motivation has been another: moving and living in Florida. Mainly Americans residing in northern states of the USA (Ex.: NY) practically invaded the “Sunshine State” in search of better quality of life, bigger houses, pleasant climate and lower population density (escape from the big congested centers). Latin Americans, in general, also started to buy thinking about a possible future move. And for those who have children, the decisive factor for buying became a “good school”.
Fortunately Florida offers some of the best schools and universities in the United States. South Florida has recently been gaining prominence. Several conquered the top ranking among the best elementary and middle schools, as well as the TOP 5 ranking for charter schools. The ranking was released by U.S. News & World Report.
Specifically in the Miami area – Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties – schools represented half of the top 10 elementary schools and six of the top 10 middle schools across the state.
The rankings are part of the U.S. News & World Report’s inaugural list of the best public elementary and high schools, including charter and magnet, nationwide. Private schools are not included in the lists.
Understand the difference between public school, charter and magnet
School rankings were based on a variety of factors, including performance on state-required tests, graduation rates, and how well the school prepares students for high school, all done in the context of socioeconomic demographics, in line with the school’s methodology. US News.
It is worth noting that the city of Weston is the only one that offers a traditional public school (not charter or magnet) in the ranking, in the 14th position in the entire state, for secondary education. The position was occupied by Falcon Cove Middle School.
The city of Weston has gained prominence in recent years for being a planned community with an excellent quality of life for its residents. It was once considered one of the safest and best cities to live in across the United States.
