Underline Miami, an incredible linear park and urban trail is on its way to deliver its second phase. Once completed, the project will encompass 120 acres of park that covers 10 miles of the area under the Metrorail. The goal of the project is to improve quality of life, connectivity, walkability, etc. It will be a space where South Florida residents and visitors will be able to connect with natures and outdoors.
Phase 2 will enhance pedestrian and bicyclist safety. This will include bicycle trails in five segments of park. These improvements will be completed by July 2023. For now, traffic will be detoured on areas affected by the construction. However, the department of Transportation and Public Works are working hard to minimize the impact of the construction.
In addition to the trail, Underline Miami will have an incredible nature-inspired playground, a redesign of the Vizcaya Station, an area for events and programs, and gorgeous native gardens.
Furthermore, the entire linear park project will be open in 2025. In total, construction will consist of three phases. Phase one was already open. In fact, the phase consisted of Brickell Backyard, which is a half-mile segment of the project. Furthermore, the segment features biking and walking trails, a soccer and basketball court, an outdoor gym, gathering areas, and gardens.
Underline Miami will be Miami-Dade’s first milti-mode corridor. It is an incredible new addition to the area, as it will bring gardens and nature into Miami’s most dense and urban neighborhood.
