Two exciting new attractions have opened at ICON Park in Orlando. The two toys are considered the biggest in the world in their respective categories. One is the long-awaited Slingshot and the other is the Drop Tower. Keep reading to know what these toys are and if you’ll have the courage to face them!
About Icon Park in Orlando
The Icon Park complex in Orlando is already well known to Brazilians and famous for housing the famous Giant Wheel, The Orlando Eye. In it you will also find the biggest StarFlyer in the world, opened in 2018. The park also offers several other attractions, such as a branch of the famous Madame Tussauds wax museum, the Skeletons skeleton museum, an aquarium with more than 5,000 species, as well as several restaurants and small shops.
The long-awaited Slingshot Orlando: the biggest in the world!
The Orlando Slingshot is a human slingshot and was scheduled to open in 2020. On account of the pandemic, the works suffered almost a year of delay. It is the largest human slingshot in the world and promises to hurl people beyond 130 meters in a straight line into the sky at a speed of 160 km/h.
Orlando Gyro Drop Tower
The Orlando Gyro Drop Tower will suspend participants to a height of 120 meters as they spin until they reach the top. Once at the top, the toy will tilt about 30 degrees forward, while the visitors absorb everything from above, then free fall, reaching a speed of 120 km per hour. It will also be the biggest toy in the world in the category. Visitors will be suspended
Icon Park Highlights International Drive
With the inauguration of two new rides, the largest in the world in their respective categories, Icon Park is projected in Orlando as an attraction that rivals the major theme parks. It is an attraction beyond the traditional Orlando parks that increasingly attracts tourists. With it, the International Drive, Orlando’s main avenue, gains even more importance on the Florida tourist itinerary.
In addition to providing quick access to Walt Disney World® Resort, Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld® Orlando, International Drive is a destination unto itself. Also known as I-Dirve, the avenue is home to many attractions, restaurants, hotels and shops. Lennar Homes, one of the largest in the US, recently announced the launch of Storey Drive Orlando, the first condominium in Orlando Vacation Homes on International Drive. Until then, the region did not allow developments aimed at short-term rentals.
