The city of Aventura is undergoing a major transformation. Aventura is known for being a residential community with a family-oriented atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle of Miami’s most central areas. In the article Aventura evolving to become the new financial district in Miami we commented on the growing number of companies from various sectors that are leaving areas like Brickell and Downtown to settle in Aventura. Gradually, the community gains more urban characteristics. This demand created by new residents and professionals also brought another characteristic to the community. Aventura suddenly became a dining destination.
The pandemic has severely affected the dining sector. Many restaurants closed permanently in Aventura. It is the case of Grand Lux Café, owned by Cheesecake Factory Inc. The unit at Aventura Mall closed its doors permanently. Grand Café has other units in Florida that will remain open, such as the ones in Sawgrass Mills outlet mall and at Town Center in Boca Raton.
Although the crisis shut down a few restaurants, other ones are entering the market. And many are coming to Aventura! Most of the new restaurants in Aventura will be located at Aventura Mall.
