Boca Raton is a city on the southeastern coast of Florida, which is very close to Miami (about an hour’s drive north). Because it is still a small city, with low population density, great weather and beautiful beaches, Boca Raton is one of the favorite destinations in Florida for retired Americans.
In this pandemic period, the movement of Americans migrating from other states, mainly northern states (eg New York) to live in Florida, intensified the search for real estate in the city of Boca Raton. Shopping in Boca Raton
The main shopping center in Boca Raton is the Shopping Town Center. It is a medium-sized mall, with free parking and good stores. On site there are good dining options and a large food court. Some brands you will find there are: Macy’s, Forever 21, H & amp; M and Apple, Abercrombie & amp; Fitch, Bloomingdale’s, Hugo Boss, Lacoste, among others. The second most popular shopping and entertainment center is O Mizner Park, a kind of boulevard-style open-air mall, offering great shops, restaurants and cinemas. With several benches spread out and super charming and cozy architecture, the place is ideal for walking with the family during the day or at night. Be sure to include Mizner Park on your list of things to do in Boca Raton.
Boca Raton also offers options for street shops and boulevards, mainly in the city center.
Pertinho de Boca Raton is also one of the largest outlets in the world, Sawgrass Mills (30 – 40 minutes by car).
Butterfly World Butterfly
Butterfly World is the largest butterfly garden in the USA and is certainly worth the visit! It is not exactly in Boca Raton, but it is close by (about 15 minutes by car) in a small town called Coconut Creek. Gumbo Limbo Nature Center
The Gumbo Limbo Nature Center is an environmental education center, ideal for families and also for children to become aware of environmental preservation. Enjoy a walk on a trail suspended over the forest, or the giant aquariums with a diversity of marine life. There is even a small surgical center and a sea turtle rehabilitation center. Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton
Public park (free entry) ideal for children. Sugar Sand offers a Splash Pad, various toys and an incredible carousel that little ones love. Red Reef Park
O Red Reef Park é uma praia afastada e paradisíaca. Fica fora da cidade em meio a uma natureza preservada. Ideal para relaxar e levar as crianças, já que a água é calma e cristalina. Em alguns locais é possível avançar uma boa distância e a água ainda baterá no joelho, parecendo uma piscina natural. Todo o parque é muito bem cuidado e preservado.
Não há lanchonetes ou restaurantes, porém a infra-estrutura para cutir a praia é completa: estacionamento pago no local (entre $16 e $20), salva-vidas, banheiros limpos, duchas e áreas para pic-nic/churrasco. É possível alugar cadeiras também por aproximadamente $10 / hora.

Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens
Os jardins são belíssimos, valendo o passeio. O restaurante apresenta opções interessantes de comida japonesa e asiática em geral. Comida boa e preços honestos. O local é tipo da cultura japonesa com jardins, restaurante e cursos. A entrada é paga, mesmo para visitação . Um excelente local para passar umas horas tranquilas e relaxar. O Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens é uma das atrações mais procuradas em Boca Raton. Com um jardim espetacular, muito bem cuidado, o lugar é ideal para quem quer relaxar e tirar fotos. Há também um museu, onde é possível conhecer um pouco a história dos imigrantes japoneses na Flórida. No local há um pequeno restaurante com comida japonesa e asiática. Residentes também podem participar de cursos no local que vão desde cultivo de bonsai até a língua japonesa.
