Disney’s BoardWalk is an attraction that often goes unnoticed by visitors to Orlando, being unknown to much of the public. Although Disney Springs is more popular among tourists, Disney’s BoardWalk offers a different and charming experience. Located in a more reserved area, “hidden” behind one of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels, it is undoubtedly a must-see for those visiting Orlando.
What is Disney’s BoardWalk?
Disney’s BoardWalk is a village created in 1996, located outside the theme parks, but still inside the Walt Disney World Resort. Inspired by the buildings of the 1920s, typical of the east coast of the United States, the village is full of charm and has as its great attraction a wide boardwalk on the shores of Lake Crescent. Along the BoardWalk, visitors find several options for shops, restaurants, confectioneries, cafes and other activities and attractions. The village is located in a more reserved area, behind the Disney’s BoardWalk Inn hotel, one of the luxury hotels of the Disney complex.
How to get to Disney’s Boardwalk
You can go to Disney’s BoardWalk by car by putting Disney’s BoardWalk Inn on the GPS. But here’s an important tip: the hotel parking lot may not allow you to stop there, unless you have a reservation at one of the BoardWalk restaurants. This is because many visitors used the parking lot to save money when visiting the EPCOT, which is very close, which led to restrictions.
Another practical way to get there is on foot, if you are at EPCOT. Just exit through the International Gateway entrance, which is between the UK and French pavilions, and take a short walk to the BoardWalk. It is also possible to take a boat, which connects BoardWalk to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
If you are in Disney Springs, there are buses that make the way to the BoardWalk. In addition, if you are staying in one of the hotels connected to Disney Skyliner, such as Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, or the resorts in the Art of Animation and Pop Century area, you can use the cable car to get to the EPCOT and head to BoardWalk.
What to do at Disney’s Boardwalk
BoardWalk is known for its nighttime entertainment options. During the night, street artists, musicians and jugglers animate the environment, creating a charming and memorable experience. There are also establishments such as Jellyrolls, a piano bar where piano duels guarantee fun for the adult audience, and the Atlantic Dance Hall, a dance floor with live music and DJs. These locations make BoardWalk a meeting point for those looking for fun beyond the parks.
Where to Eat
Disney’s BoardWalk is a true paradise for gastronomy lovers, offering options for all tastes and occasions. From sophisticated restaurants to more casual places, the boardwalk is full of places that make the experience even more special.
If you are looking for a refined meal, Flying Fish is an excellent option, known for its fresh seafood dishes in an elegant setting. Another option is Trattoria al Forno, which serves delicious Italian dishes, ideal for a family dinner.
For something more relaxed, BoardWalk Deli offers sandwiches, sweets and perfect coffees for a quick meal while you explore the boardwalk. AbracadaBar, with its magical theme and exclusive cocktails, is the ideal place to relax after a day in the parks.
Be sure to try the irresistible desserts of BoardWalk Ice Cream, which offers classic flavors and generous portions. Whatever your choice, Disney’s BoardWalk guarantees a unique gastronomic experience in a charming setting.
