Master planned communities have historically performed better than other new residential communities in times of economic hardship, and it looks like 2020 is no exception. According to RCLCO’s recently released 2020 Mid-Year Survey of the Top 50 Master-Planned Communities, home sales in master-planned communities were up more than 16% year over year, reported Miami Agent Magazine.
Among the 50 top-selling communities, Texas and Florida combined accounted for 61% of total sales. Florida leads the list of top-selling master planned communities. According to the RCLCO report, there is currently more demand for MPC homes that there is supply, a fact that has allowed many of them to grow their market share in tough times.
A master-planned community is a large-scale residential neighborhood with a large number of recreational and commercial amenities, such as golf courses, tennis courts, lakes, parks, playgrounds, swimming pools, and even stores and restaurants. Some master-planned communities may have schools, office parks, large shopping centers and other businesses. (Source: bankrate.com).
