Throughout the United States, the percentage of people seeking to move to a different metropolitan region remains high and at record levels. According to the Redfin portal, about a quarter (25.9%) of real estate buyers planned to move to a different region of the country in the third quarter.
The most popular destinations for the relocation of property buyers are in Florida. About half of the top ten destinations are located in Florida, including the city of Orlando and Miami.
Buyers are leaving San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles
San Francisco, CA, New York, NY and Los Angeles, CA are the metropolitan areas from which home buyers are leaving in greater numbers, mainly due to the high housing costs in these coastal cities. Most home areas have higher home prices compared to destinations chosen by buyers who move.
Austin also loses residents
A curiosity is that the number of people in Austin (Texas) looking for real estate outside the metropolitan area has more than doubled in the last year.
This represents a remarkable reversal for Austin, which has already stood out in recent years as one of the most souted destinations by Americans.
The state of Texas competed with Florida in attracting new residents. Apparently, even Texas residents are eyeing Florida.
