The Mai-Kai and Polynesian Show is almost as much a part of Fort Lauderdale as the sunshine. It takes a step back in time, bringing back to life the classic tiki bars of the 1950s by serving up the complete dinner and show experience since 1956.
World famous tropical drinks, tropical decor with outside waterfalls, and award winning Cantonese and American dishes.
Mai Kai recreates a typical Polynesian village, with thatch roofs, a wooden plank bridge, and tiki torches. While enjoying the show at this exciting restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, with dancing, singing and the authentic Polynesian Fire and Knife dance, you can savour a three-course meal, with fresh seafood and steaks, or one of the house specialties, which include the Peking duck, the rack of lamb, and lobster Bora Bora, sautéed with mushrooms and flamed with Bourbon. The pupu platter, a combination of Shanghai chicken, egg roll, cram Rangoon and Tahitian cheese tang is also a good call, as is the escargot.
It’s hard not to mention the Cantonese shrimp, dipped in delectable batter and fried in peanut oil, and the Pad Thai flat rice noodles, with chicken, shrimp, scallions and bean sprouts in a Thai sauce with crushed peanuts.
