New Coconut Grove apartments are on the way. For a while, this historic neighborhood has experienced some gentrification changes. These new apartments will be a more affordable option for people looking to move to the West Grove. Located across from the Douglass Road Metrorail Station, this great new project has been under construction since early May.
The project consists of eight stories with 191 rental units. In addition, 78 of the units will be reserved for people earning less than 60% of the area median income. However, the remaining 113 units will be rented at market rate. The affordable housing units will range from $800-$1234 (from a 500-square foot studio to a two bedroom unit). On the other hand, the market rate units will range from $1280/mo for a studio, to $3,060 for a two bedroom.
Furthermore, the project will be equipped with great amenities for its residents. For example they will be able to enjoy a gym, pool, yoga studio, and more. The $90 million Coconut Grove apartments are on schedule to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2022.
Coconut Grove is the oldest village in Miami-Dade. With its Bahamian roots, this neighborhood is full of history and culture. Right now, there are many new developments in the area. The new apartments coming in late 2022 will be a great option for people looking to move to the area.
