How does the strawberry harvest work in Orlando?
The strawberry harvest season at Southern Hill Farms occurs during the winter, starting in December 2024 and extending through the coldest months. Prices vary: strawberries harvested by visitors themselves cost $5 per pound (1 pound = 0.45 kg), while those already harvested, when available, are worth $6 per pound. The place works totally cashless, accepting only debit and credit cards.
In addition to the strawberry harvest, Southern Hill Farms offers a complete structure for the whole family. Children can have fun in the Kid Zone, with trampolines, carousel and slides, while adults relax in the rocking chairs or enjoy a craft beer and fresh snacks from the Southern Hill Eatery. On weekends, there are food trucks, live music and delicious sweets such as hot donuts and homemade lemonade, making the visit much more than just a harvest. The harvest system, known as “u-pick” (you harvest), operates on a first-come, first-served basis and is subject to daily availability, which may vary according to the weather and harvest. Amounts cannot be guaranteed and pets are not allowed.

Celebrities have already harvested strawberries at Southern Hill Farms
The farm gained prominence after the visit of actress Thais Fersoza, accompanied by her husband, singer Michel Teló, who took their children to have fun on site. In love with strawberries, Thais shared on Instagram Stories that this was a tour she had wanted to do for a long time. In the videos, she showed details of the farm’s infrastructure, highlighting the children’s playground, the food trucks with several food and beverage options, and described the experience as incredible and ideal for families.
