Have you heard about Winter Garden? Only 20min west of Orlando, there is this styled and charming city called Winter Garden. What turns this city so special is its preserved downtown. Although tourists are discovering the city, the typical atmosphere of a small country town remains. The city is nestled alongside beautiful Lake Apopka and is home to more than 40,000 residents. Crooked Can Brewing Company
Beer aficionados will be happy to know that Winter Garden is the home of the famous artisanal brewery Crooked Can Brewing Company. Not into beers? No worries. Next to the place, you will find the Plan Street Market, a market full of little gastronomic paradises: pizzas, hamburgers, sushi, vegan options and a lot more. The whole place has a pleasant atmosphere for the whole family.
Shopping at Winter Garden Village
If you cannot stay away from shopping, know that here you will find a nice and pretty outlet, Winter Garden Village; and the best part: without the crowds and long lines of Orlando’s outlets. There are more than 80 stores such as Marshalls, Best Buy, Carters, Forever 21, Ross, etc.
West Orange Trail
For those into cycling, Winter Garden is part of the award-winning West Orange Trail, part of the 250-mile Coast to Coast (C2C) Connector Trail across Central Florida. The trail crosses the city’s historic downtown, where you can rent a bike and start it right there.
The West Orange Trail has around 21mi extension. She begins in Oakland city, west of Winter Garden, and goes all the way to Apopka city, in the shores of Apopka Lake. Most part of the trail was built alongside the old train rails of the region. To this day is possible to see the original rails in some points along the way.
Wander through West Orange Trail is an amazing opportunity to connect with nature and breathe a little bit of the local culture. Along the trail, you will notice villas and small towns, orange plantations, a butterfly garden and much more.
