The city of Weston is a planned community, very close to Miami, designed by Arvida/JMB Realty, the same developer that planned Walt Disney World. Weston was established as a city in 1996, and is considered one of the best places to live in the United States, according to the renowned Money Magazine. Still, according to studies by the security company SafeHome, Weston is the third safest city in the country, which also makes it the safest in Florida. The region also has excellent schools, parks and hospitals, providing its residents with a unique quality of life.
Weston belongs to Broward-County. As the name suggests, Weston is in the westernmost part of Broward County, bordering the Everglades and all the nature and tropicalism that the region provides. The city is still close to Fort Lauderdale, the famous Sawgrass Mills outlet and just 20 minutes from the beautiful beaches of South Florida.

With a population of 70,000, the community was originally designed to be a golf complex. Weston’s neighborhoods and condos have the characteristics of traditional American suburbs, with wide, tree-lined streets. The city is perfect for families with children since many families already live in the neighborhood and it is easier for both parents and children to socialize. At the mall you will find nice gourmet American and International dishes as well as fast foods, a Publix Supermarket, a Starbucks and the amazing Yogurtland. The mall also offers a European cheese shop with over 150 kinds of cheese from around the world, a cigar lounge and a delicious Hoffman’s Chocolates store.

You may as well enjoy some of the fourteen parks the region offers: Weston Regional Park, Markham Park, Weston Hills Country Club, and Bonaventure Golf Club.
Weston Regional Park features 102 acres of incredible amenities such as baseball and soccer fields, sand volleyball, a skate park, basketball courts and many more. Enjoy all that in one of the many picnic areas with Wi-Fi.
Tequestra Trace Park, attached to the Trace Middle School, is another important one. The Park covers more than 40 acres (16 hectares) and offers baseball, football and a hockey rink.

The Everglades
As mentioned, Weston sits on the most western location of Broward County, bordering the Everglades.
Florida Everglades National Park is considered the largest subtropical park in the USA with 1.5 million acres of exuberant wild nature where you may find crocodiles, manatees, wild water birds and many other exotic animals.
